-The AC game manual's Lore section indicated that as buying and using lockpicks are frowned upon in local society due to its wide application in [[thievery]], vendors do not openly advertise that they sell lockpicks if they do. Also since even seeking & possessing the tool is frowned upon, anyone who asks where the lockpicks are sold can be met with a hostile response:
